Checked from more than one place
A site that answers in one region and not another is still down for somebody. We check from several, so one bad route does not read as an outage and a real one is not missed.
Told on the channel you already read
Email, Telegram or a webhook into whatever you already watch. An alert nobody sees is not an alert.
Certificates too, before they expire
We watch the TLS certificate's expiry as well as the page, so the outage that starts at midnight on renewal day never starts.
Any site, not only ours
Point it at anything you are responsible for. It does not have to be hosted with us, and there is nothing to install.
